Rallying For Rachel

In July 2018, Rachel started feeling sick. From August to December, she was back and forth between doctors and a mystery of what was happening inside her body. On Dec. 12, 2018 she was diagnosed with Scleroderma. Scleroderma is a rare autoimmune disease that affects people different ways, but for Rachel it is attacking her lungs.
On Jan. 1, 2019 she had a heart attack due to oxygen deprivation. Her oxygen level was in the 30's by the time she got to the ER. She has been on oxygen 24/7 since that day. Late Jan, Rachel traveled to Houston to see a scleroderma specialist. She has been taking immune suppressants in hopes to slow down the attack on her lungs. Unfortunately on April 24, 2019 she ended up in the ER with poor CT scans and lung function tests of only 25%!
April 30, 2019, Rachel traveled to Baylor Scott & White in Dallas to visit with lung transplant specialists to run more tests and determine her next step. She will be put on the lung transplant list but until then she must do chemo (to kill her immune system) because the transplant process can take some time and doctors don't think she can make it that long if she doesn't do chemo while waiting.
Rachel is married to her husband Randy of 16 years and together they have two beautiful girls, Grace, 10 and Macy, 4. Rachel has had to quit working for good as of February and financially that alone has taken a toll on their day to day finances. Now she will need to travel to Dallas at least once a month...that includes a hotel stay, gas and food. Some trips she will be required to stay multiple days for the tests they will need to do, which is time her husband will have to miss work as well.
Rachel has been so stressed lately financially and we hope to rally together to take that away!! She already has enough to worry about and finances shouldn't have to be one of them! Anything you can give will help!! Please please consider giving from the smallest donation to the biggest! Together we can show our support for her and her family!
