Rallying Cry for Lynnette Petite

“We Got You!”

“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” (Ryunosuke Satoro)

And being the mighty ocean that we are, let the rallying cry for our sister, Lynnette, roar  “We got you!”   Lynnette (known as a friend, family member, church deaconess,  Alpha Kappa Alpha member, co-worker, high school Boylan-Haven-Mather academy graduate; Hampton University and Norfolk State alumni member).

As your village, “We got you” in our prayers, our time, our talents, our treasures and anything else God blesses us with to battle and conquer this new bout with cancer.

We got you because we know you’re tired but continue to maintain an exceptional zest for living life.  All the while as the only child, you’ve been the constant caregiver for your ailing 95 year old mother and recently deceased 90 year old father. We got you because we know that in your selfless giving, there were times in which you had little time to do your own self-care.

We got you because stage 4 breast cancer that’s metastasized to your brain, lymph nodes and bones is a heavy mental and physical weight that no one should carry alone.  With new, advanced medical and alternative treatments now available to you, we as your village, along with your doctors are encouraged and positive about the future.

The sobering reality is that costs for advanced cancer treatment can range from $100,000 to $300,000.  Medical insurance may assist with expenses, but the path to getting well will be a lengthy process.  We got you with funds we can offer to help offset unexpected medical expenses, loss of work, plus the additional expenses related to your mother’s care while you’re recovering.

We got you while your body fights, but your spirit continues to serve God and community. God is the Source of all our strength and renews us every day. We know that as a Hampton City School social worker, you work tirelessly to help underprivileged and homeless children and families in need by using your own resources to provide food and shelter. In your capacities as church deaconess and DH Kiwanis Club member, you understand the meaning and purpose of uplifting others in their time of need. We got you because we know you need more help than what you’re comfortable with in asking.

It is for these reasons and countless others not stated, that our rallying cry is “We got You!”.  You are a single drop, but together we are your ocean.  This call goes out to all for cancer support of Lynnette Petite to unite and support our sister in her time of need.

We thank you.
