Let's rally around the Marshalls!

We are the staff of Beaverlodge Elementary School and members of the Charleswood/Westdale community in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Today one of our Charleswood community families experienced something that no family should have to experience.  Over the lunch hour, their home was destroyed by fire.

While we are thankful that the family is safe and healthy and that no one was injured, the Marshalls are now faced with having to find a place to live and even clothes to wear.  Critical medications will have to be replaced, as well as food and any number of incidentals that we take for granted in everyday life.

As this catastrophe is very "fresh", we haven't included photos of the family or anything beyond a last name out of respect for the privacy of our community family.  More details will be added as the family has time to process this situation and are able to give informed consent regarding their name and images.  There is plenty of information available through local news sources.

Right now the family needs immediate assitance with the costs associated with lodging, meals, clothing, possible veterinary bills, replacement medications and other immediate out of pocket costs.

Any assistance you can provide is appreciated.  The Charleswood/Westdale community has always come together to support our own - let's make sure we do it right this time too!

I have added Mr. Marshall as a beneficiary so that the funds raised can be directly managed by the Marshall family.  Funds now go directly to the family to be used at their discretion for whatever needs they have at the moment.
