Denise is an amazing wife and mum of two boys, Lucas, 12, and Liam who is 10. She is passionate about tennis and is an active member of the Alberta tennis community. Three years ago, Denise recieved the heartbreaking news that she has Metastatic Melanoma, an aggressive skin cancer which has quickly developed into Stage IV. She has undergone various cancer treatment with amazing positivity and bravery.
Denise and Dave are dedicated to their boys and introduced them to red ball tennis at a young age, keeping active in the local tennis community and forging friendships along the way. Denise has always played lots with the boys, staying active in the local tennis community and forging friendships along the way. Now 12, Lucas is a member of the Alberta Tennis Centre and Red Deer Tennis Club. He regularly plays in tennis tournaments in Alberta. Earlier this year Lucas enjoyed the experience of qualifying for and playing in the 2019 U12 Roger's Indoor Junior Nationals at The Tennis Academy in Calgary —always while wearing his trademark bandana.
We are raising funds to join Denise and her family on their journey, and to show our support for them at this challenging time.
On Saturday June 8th, Denise’s friends and members of the Alberta tennis community will participate in an inspiring afternoon of yoga, tennis drills and great food at the Alberta Tennis Centre. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased in person, or on the Alberta Tennis Centre website.
All money raised for the Poiriers will go to help them with the demands they are facing.
Join us at the tennis centre for on-court action from 2 - 5 p.m. There will also be a silent auction and other activities.
