Hello,
My name is Natalie and Danielle has been my best friend ever since she threw a rock at me in 6th grade. It is ironic that this is how it all began because since that day she has been my rock through some of the most difficult times in my life. Growing up, Danielle was always the momma of the group. We always joked that she was born 30 years old. While we partied and stayed out late through our college years, Danielle worked her way through college and nursing school.
She has been an oncology nurse for almost a decade. She was there for me when my father died from cancer and suffered the same loss when her mother succumbed to cancer as well. As many know life is not fair, she now finds herself battling the same disease in the form cervical cancer. She recently went through a messy divorce and is doing her best as a single mother. The divorce left her both financially and emotionally devastated.
The doctors have decided the best course of action is to proceed with a complete hysterectomy. Unfortunately, due to a bitter divorce and inadequate insurance she finds herself sinking in medical bills and without any paid time off (PTO). Instead of focusing on her treatment and recovery she is dealing with the daily stress of being an oncology nurse and single mother. Her main source of stress is how she will be able to pay for the medical procedure and subsequent treatment.
Although her fellow nurses have graciously done their best to provide her with much needed time off, she still finds herself short on money and PTO. Any money that is raised will be used to pay for her medical bills and to relieve the burden of time missed from work. I am now asking if you can find it in your heart to rally around my friend who has spent so much time caring for others in the same position. Any help that can be offered would mean the world to Danielle, Cam, and myself. I cannot imagine what she is going through as a woman or a mother right now.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my friend's story. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
