Noam is the son of Jason and Nofar Flesher, born January 12, 2017 with his twin sister Leah. Noam was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a rare liver disease found mainly in newborn infants where one or more liver ducts are blocked or absent; the cause of this condition is unknown.
At only five weeks’ old, Noam had his first surgery to replace liver ducts that flow to his small intestines; he has been admitted to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) four more times since for health issues related to this condition. A feeding tube is helping him get the nourishment he desperately needs for weight gain.
When Noam’s liver ducts were replaced, the defective ducts removed were donated to the Research Department at CHOP. Noam continues to be involved with the Research Department, so doctors can determine the causes for this condition and how it may be prevented in the future.
The Flesher family is very grateful for the outpouring of support from their family, friends and community. It is their request that a portion of the proceeds from this Benefit be donated to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia - Biliary Atresia Research Department.
