Rally together for Liam and Amber

Donation protected
On Sunday, July 30th, 2017 my sister with whom is 7 months pregnant with their first child, was on her way back home after a weekend away visiting her cousins, her husband, Liam unable to come was at work, as a crane operator, she received a call that no wife wants to receive. Liam had been rushed to the hospital, after having 2 seizures up in the crane and had to be lowered down and rushed to the hospital. Thankfully no one was hurt in the process as somehow being the amazing man he is he closed the window in the crane so he wouldn't fall out, lowered he load he was carrying, and then secured it quickly before he seized. After numerous tests we received the diagnosis that Liam has a brain Tumor in the left frontal lobe that controls memory, and speech. In addition he is incredibly sore and during his seizure he fell and broke his shoulder and as he was being lowered sprained his ankle.

As you can imagine this has been very stressful and scary for them and they're trying to navigate their way through information, doctors, and expenses.  Amber is currently over 7 months pregnant and has a home base business as a hair stylist, therefore Liam was to be the sole provider while on Maternity Leave.  Due to the seizures and the tumor he is unable to drive for a year and there is no guarantee on the anti seizure medication that he wont seize so Amber is unable to return to work as she will need to be by his side 24/7 and will need help from family as she is too pregnant to be able to assist him in the event of a seizure, therefore they're unable to be alone for the foreseeable future.

Liam has an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday, August 8, as his shoulder is broken and incredibly painful with bruising surging down his forearm, he is in a secured sling, but they were unable to come up with a treatment plan at the hospital due to too much swelling, however, he will most likely require surgery, or will be in a secured sling or cast for over the next 3 months.  Luckily we have been blessed with a world renowned neurosurgeon with whom operated on Gord Downie from the Tragically Hip and will see him at 11|:00 am on Wednesday, August 9.  We are unsure of the treatment plan at this time, nor if the tumor is benign or melignent.

Obviously this is a very difficult time and Liam is very proud and has worked very hard his whole life for the things he has and for every dollar so we would never ask others to open their hearts or pockets unless absolutely necessary and we all know you never think things like this will happen to you, especially a 31 year old man who is the most health conscious person in our family.  The banks dont stop taking out payments and even though your life is on hold waiting on results or treatment plans everyone elses life resumes as normal.  Liam and Amber are under quite alot of stress and do have some insurance, but submission of documents are on hold until we have further prognosis.  Therefore funds are needed right away, the funds will go to mortgage payment, bills, food on their table, medical supplies, and further necessities for the baby on the way, and in addition will ensure some peace of mind for Amber losing a month and a half of wages.

Currently we are asking for funds, prayers, good positive thoughts, love, and support.  We were planning a baby shower for the month of August, but it is cancelled indefinitely pending recovery.  We are asking that if any baking or meals are provided that they be gluten and egg free due to Amber's allergies.  Gift cards are welcome, however the most important is bills and necessities.  We are asking that everyone give them well wishes and love, but some space during this time and I or Sandra Piercy are available for updates.  We are trying to ensure Liam and Amber do not get too overwhelmed and we need to remain calm and strong for Amber so the baby remains healthy and stays in there for a couple more months.  Obviously if you do the math its possible that surgeries and recovery are either to happen before or after the babies arrival so time is of the essence to ensure they are prepared, calm, comfortable, stress free and that this family is healthy above all else.  We need Liam in our family, Amber needs her husband, and little baby Charlie needs his father.
