Rally for Ruben's Recovery

Family and Friends, as many of you have read on Facebook our Brother, Mr. kickass drummer, awesome cook, and overall GREAT human being, Ruben Duarte Jr., is in the hospital recovering from 2 surgeries; back-to-back no less! The first was a scheduled partial colectomy and the second was the result of a decision made by his surgeon post-op. Ruben had a high fever for 2 days and the medical staff couldn't locate the source causing the fever. So they went back in a second time! Needless to say, the second surgery caused severe pain and major stress...stress on top of stress!
(He knew going in, this surgery was going to be ROUGH. Some of you may or may not know, Ruben had this same procedure done several years ago. My brother didn't share that information with many people...he didn't want to "burden" anyone with his woes; he didn't want others to worry about him. As I type this out, I find it quite ironic. I mean to say, how many of us, have his number set as a favorite because we all know he can be counted on when WE need help or to dump our woes on someone!)
The stress caused by 2 surgeries, within 3 days, was too much to handle; Ruben did not wake up from the anesthesia as they had anticipated. His medical team detected issues in his heart rhythms. Up until 3 A.M. he was on HIGH medical alert...early Monday morning my big brother did indeed suffer a minor heart attack.
Fast forward to today...I am pleased to say, they removed the ventilator and moved him out of ICU! :) That's the good news. The challenge...get well and recover. It's premature to say, but it's likely his Cardiologist may schedule bypass surgery the near future.
Our family appreciates all of the prayers, well wishes and the outpouring of love we have received for our brother! It is truly heartwarming! After much thought and discussion, we are now asking for ANY donations you may be able to help us with during this time. At the present moment, Ruben is completely bedridden...his recovery time certainly didn't factor in a heart attack and a very likely third surgery (double-triple bypass). FACT: Ruben needs rest to heal...LOT's of rest. But he's already worrying about the bills and how to pay them off while he is in recovery. That's why we're reaching out. Please help us unburden our brother with the stress of how to pay off 3 surgeries...A donation of any amount is deeply appreciated!
