As many of you know, one of the people that means the most to me has been battling endometrial cancer for the past 3 years. Sam is the true definition of a fighter! Despite her sickness, she fights through pain every day to show up for her family.

In December 2022, when Sam was diagnosed, she knew she had a long road ahead and was ready to fight the fight. She had a full hysterectomy and many rounds of chemo. Luckily, it all helped and scans were clear for a bit. Unfortunately in January 2024, Sam had to undergo another major surgery, removing her stomach. The summer of 2024 was not an easy one. Sam had a serious emergency and surgery involving her port and learned that the cancer spread to her lungs and intestines. Her lungs are inoperable at this point and she has had to face various surgeries to remove portions of her intestines since they have found it. After losing too much weight, Sam had yet another major surgery for a feeding tube in October 2024. That feeding tube never stopped Sam living her life.. a true inspiration still showing up for her babies. In May 2025, Sam had to have the tube removed after 6 infections. She continues to do all that she can to make sure she is eating and maintaining her weight - easier said than done. Sam requires many IV fluids and meds to keep up with daily nutrients.

Here is where we need your help - with stage 4 metastatic cancer, there is not much that can be done for a cure but Sam continues to fight. This means fighting awful pain each and every day. This means facing many financial burdens because of health care costs. Sam was finally approved for disability as she cannot work, however, that barely covers her monthly medications. Her port meds are averaging $600 a month and trips to the clinic for extra meds/nutrients add up quick. Sam can no longer drive. Daily tasks aren't always manageable and a visiting nurse to help is $79 a day. On top of this, as I'm sure everyone can feel it... life is expensive - bills, rent, utilities, car payments, gas and the most expensive but most important - groceries can be hard for any family to manage these days. I know many of us are barely keeping our head above water at times. Andrew's income only goes so far as a family of 6 with Kaleb being in college and Kayleigh, Kaiden and Kassidy all being engaged in sports and extracurricular activities.

If you know Sam, you know she absolutely hates asking for help but its time for us to rally to help take some of the financial stress off of the Elliotts. There is no amount too small. Even if you are unable to donate, we please ask for you keep her and her family in your thoughts and prayers ❤️
