Rally for Rodman

Donation protected
My friend and coworker, Kirk Rodman, was recently diagnosed with   colon cancer. Those of you who know him, know how awesome of a guy he is. The phrase "give you the shirt off of his back" describes him perfectly. He is unbelievably tough and always puts his friends and family before himself. He is married and has two daughters who are his pride and joy.

After months of stomach pain, Kirk went to the doctor and found out he had stage 4 colon cancer. The treatment will consist of 8 rounds of chemotherapy followed by 10 days of radiation. At this point, he will get another scan in hopes that the cancerous areas have shrunk enough to perform surgery, but the battle will not end there. The doctors have told him that the type of cancer he has is likely to reappear, which means he will have to go through another 8 rounds of chemotherapy post operation.

Kirk is the first guy willing to help someone in need and now it is him who could use some help. Kirk and I work in the same office and through these last few months I have not heard this guy complain once. I never knew that his stomach was bothering him so badly or that he had been to the doctor for it. I didn't know until weeks after the diagnosis what was actually going on and that is because he is the type of guy that will not ask for help. He is the guy that takes care of others and doesn't want anyone having to worry about taking care of him. Everyone who works with him calls him by his last name, Rodman.  Rodman is an avid hunter and fisherman. He is in the woods or on the water every chance he gets, so when he told me that he was selling his boat I knew that his illness had become a serious financial burden. Most importantly I ask that you keep Rodman in your prayers, but for a guy that is always willing to help others, let's Rally for Rodman and help him out. At a time like this when he has a number of things to stress about, let's help ease the financial stress, so that he can focus on beating this terrible disease.
