Calling for a Rally!
From it's opening in 2011, River & Rail Bakery has done more than serve Huntington, WV coffee, award winning food, and delicious baked goodies...
it has been a beacon of community growth -- helping to bring the city together and facilitate a sentiment of "closeness" that small towns thrive on.
Whether it's catering for local organizations, providing a hot cup of coffee to the homeless population, or simply feeding the familiar faces around the area, R&R is a pivotal cog in the Huntington machine.
The owner, Kim Baker, was recently awarded West Virginia Woman Owned Small Business of the Year for River and Rail. She has worked tirelessly to mold the bakery into the community center it is today.
However, running a small business in this town is not without financial struggle.
Unfortunately, a significant blow has been dealt to the shop as their main freezer suddenly went out of commission.
With the poor timing, the business will be unable to provide the lunch service and baked goods that have made them such a town favorite.
They would never ask for help... it's not their style. So as someone who sees all of the good R&R does, it kills me to sit by and watch bad things happen to amazing people. If you feel similarly, then let's rally together and show R&R a little love.
Some love for a shop that "lives local", some love for a dedicated and diligent female small-business owner, and love for a quality product that's delivered with a smile.
