If you know Rachel, you know that she is full of light and laughter. You know that she is a dedicated, empathetic nurse. You know that she is an incredible, supportive friend. You know that, above all, she is a mother who is kind, generous, and willing to go above and beyond for her kids. And right now, she needs the people who love her to rally around her. We need to go above and beyond for our friend who confronts every obstacle without hesitation.

What started as concern for a pinched nerve was discovered to be a brain bleed, with some heavy pressure on that beautiful brain of hers - a 6x5cm tumor that is located on the right, front side of her brain. To fix this, surgery is necessary and it has to happen now.

In order for Rachel to fully heal, she will have to be off work for an indefinite period of time. And as a single mom, that makes the future scary and uncertain. As her community, we are asking for help to support Rachel and the kids during her healing journey.

This is for a woman who would give the shirt off her back if she could. She’s generous and supportive to everyone she loves. She meets every situation head-on, with a smile and a joke to keep things light. And to ask for help is hard for her, but in times like this, you need your village to rally behind you.

So, let’s rally. Let’s give Rachel and the kids the ability to rest without concern. To keep moving forward when life tries to knock you back. To be comfortable and taken care of while healing. To have the security of support while focusing on the next steps.
