Rally for Mateo after HIT & RUN

Donation protected
On December 17 at 11:30 p.m., my brother, Mateo Salcedo, was hit by a car while crossing a street in Queens, New York. The person who hit him took off leaving Mateo unconscious on the street. Fortunately, a nice stranger had called 911 and my brother was rushed to the emergency room at ELMHURST HOSPITAL in QUEENS, NY.

My wonderful, talented, caring and witty brother was in the emergency room for a day and a half. After that, Mateo spent a week in the hospital where he underwent surgery to insert an L-shaped metal plate into his right eye bone, had multiple scans because he had a brain hemorrhage and has to wear a brace and walk with crutches, without putting weight on his left leg, for five months or more depending on the healing process. Then he will have physical therapy for at least 4 months.

Mateo works hard as a freelance in video production, is reliable, has a great heart and has always been a great support for friends and family. He has built his career step by step and will continue valiantly once he recovers from this unfortunate incident. At this time, Mateo will not be able to work on many projects that he had lined up and on many others that I am sure would have arisen. However, the bills and financial commitments will continue to accumulate and increase in size until he can be recovered.

We have created this campaign on his behalf to raise funds for Mateo's basic expenses until he can return to work. We will be eternally grateful for any contribution you can make and we would be especially grateful if you help us share his story with as many friends and family as possible.

Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!
