<div>Tonight, during a scrimmage as our Phenom 2030 team prepared for Nationals, something happened that none of us ever want to see.

<div>Towards the end of the game, Maddox—a fierce competitor and beloved teammate—went up to block a shot. In a split second, he was accidentally undercut and came crashing down, landing directly on his head. What followed was terrifying: Maddox began to seize on the court.

</div>

<div>The gym fell silent as coaches, players, and parents rushed to his side. Paramedics arrived within minutes and did an incredible job stabilizing him. Thankfully, the seizure lasted only 43 seconds, and Maddox began to regain consciousness and respond.

</div>

<div>Maddox underwent a CT scan. His father shared some relieving news: no swelling or bleeding was detected, and while doctors don’t believe it was a true seizure, they are taking every precaution. He will need to see both a concussion specialist and a neurologist in the coming days. Right now, he’s resting, sore, and a little banged up—but in good spirits and, in typical Maddox fashion, mostly just hungry.

<div>While we’re all grateful the outcome wasn’t worse, this kind of trauma takes a toll—not just emotionally, but financially. Emergency care, ambulance rides, specialist visits, follow-ups… it all adds up quickly.
