Rally for Kim

Donation protected
In the summer of 2015, my sister, Kim Willis Moore, was diagnosed with Stage IV Squamous Cell Supra Glottis Larynx cancer. This is a very long name for Vocal Chord and Throat Cancer. She went through 35 radiation treatments and 3 chemo treatments to try and eliminate the cancer. The cancer appeared to be gone. In October of 2016 we received news that the cancer had returned and after additional testing, the doctors determined that the only recourse was to have a full Laryngectomy. This meant that she had to have her vocal chords removed and her breathing rerouted to an opening in her throat.

While she was in Houston at MDAnderson Cancer Hospital having the surgery done she was let go from her job. Kim is a single Mom who has always worked very hard to take care of her and her family by herself. Since she had the surgery she has attempted to obtain a new job but has not been successful. She continues to try. We, as her family, have all helped to lighten the financial burden as must as we possibly can. Because of our own personal financial obligations, we are not able to replace the salary that she was earning to take care of her and her 17 year old daughter.

Unfortunately we have just recently learned that her cancer has returned for a third time. She is looking at more chemo treatments and maybe some clinical trials for cancer treatments to try and slow down or stop this aggressive disease that has returned again. We will continue to fight this horrible disease but Kim could really use some financial help.  She has been drawing unemployment but it is due to run out soon.

All donations will be used to help Kim with the following:
    * Remaining medical costs that she continues to make monthly payments on for the care that she has received from  2015 through today.  Her portion of these healthcare bills are currently over $15,000 and will continue to grow with new upcoming treatments.
    *  Transportation and housing costs to and from MDAnderson in Houston, Texas from Bowling Green, KY (at least 4 times a year).
    *  Transportation costs from Bowling Green, KY to Nashville, TN for treatments. (She needs a reliable vehicle to make this trip.)
    *  The cost of living for Kim and her 17 year old daughter until she can obtain another job. (Food, housing, utilities, etc.)

Any donations whether small or large will be greatly appreciated and much needed.  Your generosity can go a long way towards helping Kim through this very difficult time in her life.
