My 23-year-old sister, full of life, love, and promise was taken from us in the most tragic way. After leaving an unhealthy relationship in hopes of finding peace, she moved for a fresh start. But instead of safety, she met tragedy.

During an argument, as she tried to walk away, her so-called friend pulled out a gun and shot her in the head. She never got a chance to speak her peace, to live her life, or to say goodbye.

She was more than just a sister. She was a loving daughter, a cherished aunt, a niece, and a friend to many. Her spirit lit up rooms and her heart was always open to others.

They say to expect the unexpected—but nothing could have prepared us for this. We are broken. We are hurting. And we are asking for help.
