Help Crystal Shafer in Her Fight Against Transverse Myelitis

Crystal Shafer has dedicated her life to helping others. As an advocate for people experiencing homelessness in Amarillo, she has worked tirelessly to provide outreach, compassion, and support to those in need. Now, Crystal needs our help.

Recently, Crystal was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, a rare and devastating spinal cord infection that has left her hospitalized for nearly three weeks. The condition can cause paralysis, requiring intensive treatments, including antibodies and steroids, in hopes of restoring her mobility.

As if that weren't enough, she is also facing an upcoming oral surgery due to severe side effects from a medication she received. With mounting medical expenses and everyday bills piling up, the financial strain is overwhelming. As a single mother, Crystal is doing everything she can to stay strong for her family, but she can't do this alone.
