Carrie is currently in the hospital facing a very serious and painful battle.
She was admitted to the ER ICU unit on Wednesday with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), with her blood sugar reaching a dangerously high level of 460. On top of that, she’s also meeting the criteria for sepsis—a life-threatening response to infection that can cause major complications. During her stay, Carrie has had 3 surgeries so far to remove necrotic tissue, and while that was a necessary step, she’s still not out of the woods yet, There is still at least one more surgery. She remains in the hospital under close observation as the medical team works to stabilize her condition.
Anyone who knows Carrie knows that she is one of the most selfless and compassionate people around. She’s the kind of friend who shows up without hesitation, offering a helping hand or a listening ear whenever someone is in need. Her heart is as kind as they come—always putting others before herself, even when no one is watching. Whether it's running errands for someone, lending support through hard times, or simply being there with her warm presence, Carrie never stops giving.
Now, it’s Carrie who needs the support. She’s in a very vulnerable and critical moment in her life, and it’s time for all of us who care about her to rally around her with love, encouragement, and any help we can offer. Carrie has always been a light in the lives of others, and as she fights through this medical crisis, she deserves to feel that same light reflected back to her in the form of support and hope
Why We're Asking for Support:
Medical Bills: Carrie has already undergone multiple surgeries and is receiving intensive, ongoing care. Even with insurance, these treatments are incredibly expensive.
Lost Wages: Carrie won’t be able to return to work for a long time. She has no income coming in during this critical period.
Rent & Utilities: Carrie still has to cover basic living expenses like rent, utilities, her phone bill, and food while she recovers.
Family Travel: Her mother, Debra lives in Texas and desperately wants to be by her side. We’re raising funds to help with the cost of flights so her mom can travel and stay with her during recovery.
How You Can Help:
Every single donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference in Carrie’s life. If you’re not able to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, and community. Carrie has always been a fighter, but right now she needs all of us in her corner.
Let’s help take some of the weight off her shoulders so she can focus on what matters most: healing.
Thank you so much for your love and support it means the world to us
