Rally for Bekka's Family

Hello my name is Danny Rodriguez; I am Bekka’s husband of what would have been 17 years on October 12th. Writing about her death from cancer on Saturday, October 7th is the hardest thing I have had to do.

 
“Backstory”-Many of you would not know the deep pain that Bekka was in and many hospital visits she endured because this was not something you would notice if you met Bekka. Her contagious smile, heart of gold and the love she gave others around her was so inspirational. Her joy radiated through her smile even as she was facing the toughest battles of her life. Bekka had the ability to leave a lasting impression on those that she encountered, even up to her last days.

“Here is how you can help”-The expenses throughout this journey include $25,000 for medical bills, $18,000 for funeral expenses plus 7.9% fees for this Go Fund Me campaign which leads us to a goal of $46,000. Bekka battled 10 different types of cancers for the last 10 years of her life. Throughout those years she fought her way through what started out as thyroid cancer and had later progressed to brain, breast, bone, pancreas and stomach cancer to name a few. During this time Bekka had underwent 8 surgeries, 8 rounds of chemotherapy and over 50 rounds of radiation to treat those various types of cancers which included well over 100 hospital stays. Unfortunately, we do not have life insurance and most of these tests and procedures were not covered by our medical insurance and not receiving medical treatment was never not an option.

Throughout this process many of you have asked how you could help and how can you pray. It is much easier to ask for prayers than it is for money, but right now our family Marissa, Dominick, Alex and I could use your help. Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for your donation, prayers and support for our family.
