Rally around the Kirk Family!

Donation protected

The story goes that the first time Kevin Kirk laid eyes on her, Angie rode up on the back of a horse and it was love at first sight. If that sounds like a fairytale kind of love, then that’s because it was. Angie and Kevin were inseparable soul mates who spent the next forty years showing us all what love is supposed to look like.

After marriage and bringing two sons into their lives, they spent the next decades building a family and a beautiful home. Angie worked as a court reporter and Kevin began a career as a butcher and business owner, opening The Heavy Metal Shop in Salt Lake City, and becoming a pillar of the music scene, in SLC and beyond.

Unfortunately, every great fairytale has its dark moments, and that is true of Kevin and Angie’s life, too.  Both of their sons suffered through some serious issues that left Kevin and Angie needing to support them through it, causing serious financial burden that eventually caused their family to lose the beautiful home they had painstakingly built together with all the love, sweat and tears of their life’s journey together.

Still, their bond only continued to grow stronger, and they made it through, landing on their feet in a rental, even if they weren’t in their beloved home, in order to continue supporting their sons and now two grandchildren.

A few years ago, just as things were starting to turn around, they lost their beloved son, Joey, to a horrific accident.

The loss of Joey was devastating, but they both kept going so they could continue to provide a wonderful life to their two grandchildren, whom they have been the primary caregivers for since they were born. Kayson is twelve now, and Kiley is nine.

At the end of February, 2022, Angie went into the hospital due to a bad case of pneumonia that she couldn’t shake. The doctors diagnosed her with a rare case of Leukemia. Unfortunately, they were unable to treat it and the love of Kevin’s life passed away shortly after.

Angie’s dream was to someday be able to buy another home to continue raising her beloved grandchildren in.

This gofundme was initially started to help the family with medical expenses while Angie was in the hospital, but will now focus on the long term goal of raising enough funds to be able to make Angie’s dream come true and buy a home for Kevin and the two grandchildren he will now be raising on his own.

The family thanks you immensely for your support and sends you MOST LOVE forever!
