We are fortunate if we are blessed with good health by birth but not everyone is as lucky as us. There are a few life shortening and debilitating diseases which render many a spirited individuals handicapped.
Friedreich's Ataxia is a life shortening disease that causes progressive damage to the nervous system. Onset of symptoms usually starts between the ages of 5 and 15 and within 10 years of diagnosis the patients are confined to a wheelchair or become bed-ridden. The average age of death of FA patients is 35 years. They need a lot of care and goodwill to boost their morale and give them hope. Most of FA patients need a full-time attendant to cater to their daily activities.
Cheshire Home, New Delhi is one such unit which provides medical care, physiotherapy and positive hope. They maintain a healthy and hygenic facility which provides 24x7 care for patients. This NGO is very dear to me and I support it whole heartedly. I'd like to request donations from all my nears and dears. Any amount will help.
My parents will be visiting Cheshire home in a couple weeks and have volunteered to deliver the collected funds personally.
