Raising the Bighouse

After a devastating fire in 2009 that destroyed the cultural and spiritual home of the Tsawout community, construction is underway to rebuild this important piece of the community.
Benefiting children, youth and elders alike, the longhouse provides a place for community to gather and practice cultural traditions.
Funds raised from this campaign will be used to complete the interior of the longhouse including a community kitchen, seating arena and other finishing details.
Supporting this project means you can be a part of a unique cultural and social preservation and revitalization project . This is an important step forward for the wellbeing of the community, and an exciting opportunity for the surrounding community to come together and support this historic event.
