Raising money to help Lori raise her nephews

On July 27, Candice Wilkins was taken from this world way too early when she suddenly passed. She left behind 4 boys, Josh (15), Zach (12), Maddox (6), and Braylin (6).

The day after her passing, the four boys went to stay with their Aunt Lori Thomas, not knowing where they would ultimately end up. All four boys have asked to stay and Lori has courageously stepped up to care for all of these children in addition to her two boys that she was already raising as a single mother. She is passionate about raising these boys to love the Lord and be the best men they can be. Truth be told, most would consider Lori to be the most selfless person, always looking to provide for the needs to others.

Unfortunately, there was no life insurance or financial assistance available to provide care for the boys. We are raising money for these immediate and ongoing financial concerns:

-Purchasing a vehicle that can hold all 7 people. Lori’s current SUV only holds five.

-Groceries for 6 hungry growing boys

-Funds for current school education, supplies, activities etc

-Clothing

-Health insurance and health care needs

-Saving for future vehicle for Josh that turns 16 in December

-College savings (2 children will be graduating in 3-6 years)

-Additional utility expenses

-All the many ongoing miscellaneous needs in raising children

Lori is trusting the Lord to provide for His vision for these children. She is in perfect peace and walking in the strength of the Lord. However, we all have an opportunity here to be the hands and feet of Jesus to lift this family up and pour out the heart of the Father to care for orphans. “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” ~James 1:27.

We are firmly believing that what the enemy meant for harm, the Lord is using for good. While the costs to raise these children are much greater than $250,000, we feel this will be a great starting place to get them on their feet.
