On July 24th 2018, a beautiful bundle of joy entered the world! Her name is Iris Rouse and we knew she was a gorgeous little newborn baby.
Before she was born we were aware the baby had some fluid on the brain, and had tried to prepare what might be done after she was born. What we didn't know when she was born was the complications she would face in the coming days. Soon after being born Iris was showing that she was having problems breathing, her heart rate was slowing down and had stopped breathing a few times. In the days after, she had a feeding tube inserted, was kept in the ICU in an incubator bed and had multiple tests performed to see what was causing these problems.
Iris' parents, Brittany and Zach have been there every day with her in the hospital and every night go home to take care of their one year old girl named Athena, and Zach also has a five year old daughter Fiona. Due to the severity of the situation, Zach has not been able to work and has since taken parental leave. Because of this, they do not have any income as his work does not provide paid parental leave. That's where this GoFundMe comes in.
These are parents who are dealing with such hardship, with no income, and need to be able to purchase the necessities for their children and family. Food, gas to drive back and forth from the hospital, formula, diapers... It builds up. And that is what the funds from this campaign will go to.
Please help out this family. This support will mean the world and more to them.
My name is Abby. I am the aunt of Iris, sister of Zach. And if we can raise some money for these two parents who are in dire need of help... I would be so grateful for any and all donations given.
Thank you so much.
