<div>Wij zijn Kopstuk voor KiKa, een team van vier vrienden: Joris, Sten, Maarten en Victor van jaarclub Kopstuk. We leerden elkaar kennen in ons eerste studentenjaar waarin we niet vies waren van een drankje in de kroeg, maar tijden veranderen. Nu zetten we die koppigheid in voor iets groters en betekenisvollers.

<div>En zo gaan wij een voor ons groot avontuur aan: op 2 november 2025 rennen wij de New York Marathon voor Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij (KiKa). Komend jaar zullen wij in het teken van sport zetten om uiteindelijk 42 kilometer te bikkelen door Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx en Manhattan waarmee we zoveel mogelijk geld op halen voor KiKa.

<div>Onze motivatie voor KiKa
</div>
<div>In een wereld van groeiende verdeeldheid voelen we sterk de behoefte om verbinding te creëren, en hoe kan dat nou beter dan met sport. KiKa’s missie sluit perfect aan bij onze liefde voor sport en onze gedeelde droom om ooit een marathon te lopen. Het raakt ons dat een vijfde van de kinderen met kanker nog altijd niet geneest. Voor hen, en voor een toekomst waarin elke vorm van kinderkanker genezen kan worden, rennen wij.

<div>Ons streefbedrag
</div>
<div>Aan de start van de marathon, willen wij een bedrag van €30.000,- hebben opgehaald. Een ambitieus doel, maar wij zijn vastberaden. Met evenementen en acties – van een muziekavond tot feestjes – zetten we alles op alles om dit streefbedrag te halen. Samen zorgen we dat elk gedoneerd bedrag een verschil maakt.

</div>
<div>We are Kopstuk for KiKa, a team of four friends: Joris, Sten, Maarten, and Victor. We met during our first year of university, back when we weren’t shy about having a drink (or two) at the pub. Times change, though, and now we’re channeling that same determination into something bigger and more meaningful.

<div>That’s how we embarked on a big adventure: on November 2, 2025, we’ll run the New York Marathon for the Children Cancer Free Foundation (KiKa). Over the next year, our focus will be on training and preparing for this 42-kilometer challenge through Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Manhattan, all while raising as much money as possible for KiKa.

<div>Our motivation for KiKa

<div>In a world increasingly divided, we feel a strong need to create connection—and what better way to do that than through sports? KiKa’s mission perfectly aligns with our love of sports and our shared dream of running a marathon one day. It deeply moves us that one in five children with cancer still doesn’t survive. For them, and for a future where every form of childhood cancer is curable, we’re running.

<div>By the time we’re at the starting line of the marathon, we aim to have raised €30,000. It’s an ambitious goal, but we’re determined. With events and campaigns—from music nights to parties—we’re pulling out all the stops to reach our target. Together, we can ensure that every donation makes a difference.
