Raising money for Jersey's vet bills

Donation protected

Last Saturday we picked up our new baby, Jersey. She is the sweetest little thing you will ever meet. It was love at first sight and we just had to have her. All of her paperwork looked good, her living conditions seemed fine and the person selling her seemed to genuinely care about her. The moment we got her home everything went to hell. I noticed that she had blood in her stool and every minute after that more and more blood started to come out. I took her to the vet on the Monday to find out that she has Giardia which is a very strong and hard to kill parasite that can be passed on to humans. When I messaged the breeder she told me that she hadn't noticed blood in her stool. When I asked her to pay for the vet bill she disappeared. At this point I didn't care because I was just happy that Jersey was on the mend. Or so we thought. Jersey's condition started to decrease rapidly. We called the Auburn Bay vet and told her what was going on. The vet told Wes that they had a dog in a few month ago with the same symptoms. They took our info and Wes rushed Jersey to the 24hr vet hospital. As Wes was waiting to see the vet he got a phone call from a women who purchased a dog from the same lady! Her pup also had Giardia along with a ton of other health issues. As it turns out this lady is a puppy mill broker and has been scamming people and selling sick dogs for years! We then find out that all of the paperwork we have is forged and the microchip doesn't even match the paperwork that we have. We have no idea if this baby has even been vaccinated or if she has ever even been seen by a vet prior to us. As we dug even deeper we find her name all over animal scam awareness pages, she owned a pet store in Okotoks that kept getting the windows smashed out by animal activists because of the condition of the dogs. This was completely devastating news obviously but our main concern was getting Jersey healthy. The vet treated her with pneumonia, gave her more meds, IV fluids and we went home. Unfortunately Jersey is not getting better, her condition gets worse every hr. This poor baby needs to be hospitalized so she can get 24hr care. The cost of this is $1000/day with no guarantee of her surviving. The other option is to put her down. This is so unfair and I haven't stopped crying since we got her. We were suppose to love her for the rest of her life. I hate that women for doing this to our family and to these puppies. We don't know what else to do but to reach out to see if anyone can help us with these bills. Even if we could raise $500-$1,000 for her first day we would come up with the rest some how. She needs x rays, more blood work, 24hr IV fluids, tests including canine distemper, medications and so much more. Jersey deserves a chance at life but we can't afford the vet bills alone. All I care about is saving this poor baby and then seeing what legal rights we have to hopefully put an end to this evil women. If you can't donate please share this post. The lady we got the puppy from is Tanya Arkel, she also goes by Tanya Proulx she lives in Okotoks and she is a puppy mill broker. Thank you to everyone who has reached out already. We will keep you posted of our sweet Jersey girl.
