Hi everyone, as you’ll all know Tim and Alicia dedicate their entire life to helping dogs and love every dog that comes to us like their own. Most of you will also be familiar with their working dogs and especially Edward their fox red Labrador. Unfortunately his head and face has rapidly lost muscle over the last week.

He’s our logo and our main training and assessment dog - it all started with Edward. Last Thursday Edward’s head was showing muscle loss which came out of nowhere and over the span of a few days it was quite rapidly disappearing. It seemed to be a mystery what was going on, though there was talk of a potential tumour. It all lead to a quick referral to the specialists at Cave. In the span of 3 days Edward’s cheek and eyes had also started to sink in.

The specialists were almost convinced it would be an aggressive tumour - with odds of a 70% likelihood. Edward had lots of testing including an MRI to try and find out what was causing this. We can’t believe it but amazingly the scans did not show any obvious tumour! Whilst this is amazing news it did then leave questions as to what it was and how to treat it which we are still pursuing. So far this has cost close to £4500, without any treatment.

Edward is the most wonderful dog, he’s assisted Tim in training with reactivity and aggression as he is known for his truly wonderful temperament so this has understandably been incredibly difficult for them to retire him from his working role. I’m hoping to at least be able to ease some of the financial burden for them as they really are the kindest people. They would never ask for anything but they gave us the biggest blessing when my dog Jasper was diagnosed with a very serious heart condition and Tim and Alicia fundraised the money for his initial treatment and he’s living his best life now so I want to be able to do the same for them as they give so much to everyone else.

Last year Buster had to have his leg removed which meant a lengthy recovery process, this took up thousands of pounds of their money among multiple other operations that he has had to have last year, spending around £10,000 on Buster alone. They have put so much of their own money into the business as well I want to be able to help with the financial burden they face with Edward’s ongoing treatment.
