<div>To show support for a lovely family in our community who have experienced a difficult time of late, a few of us with close links to Abertysswg &amp; the Rugby club are running the forthcoming Cardiff half marathon 2024 and hoping to raise money to support the charity Barnado’s.
</div>

</div>
<div>Barnado's is the chosen charity of a local family who tragically lost a keen sportsman and devoted village man, in Matthew (Norris) earlier this year.
</div>

</div>
<div>Matthew and his family are a huge part of Abertysswg Rugby Club, the hub of the village where, recently, the family organised a fundraising day in memory of Matthew. The event was fantastically supported by the whole village and wider community with the family selecting to pass on the money raised in Matthew’s memory to Barnado’s. Matthew paid a regular subscription to the charity as he was passionate about the excellent work they undertake to support vulnerable children to ensure they are ‘safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful – and have somewhere they feel they belong.

<div>Along with his other many interests, Matthew, a devoted dad, big rugby follower and all rounf genuinely lovely man, enjoyed his running and has completed the Cardiff Half Marathon a few times (along with some of us running this year) in recent years. We feel this will be a fitting way to show support to the family and raise funds for the family’s chosen charity in his memory.
