We desperately need your help to raise money for my brother’s serious neck surgery!
My brother, Zoltan needs your help to raise fund for his urgent, upcoming surgery to fix his very unstable neck and to decompress his brain. This is a very expensive and serious surgery that needs to be done as soon as possible.. This is the only chance for him to get his life back!
He is 40 years old and he has been in so much pain and has been having many different kinds of symptoms for 3-3.5 years.
He was such a funny, easygoing, always happy guy until 3 years ago when his symptoms ( frequent headaches, vision problems ) started months after an auto accident. Soon it became an everyday issue and he started seeing doctors but every test came out negative. We couldn’t find answers what is causing his migraines...
Then his neck started hurting and the pain got worse and more frequent and in the last couple of years he has been in constant excruciating pain every day for 24 hours. Basically the pain never goes away!! He has to support his neck with a soft neck collar and hard neck brace.
He has visited so many different kinds of doctors over the years, neurologists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, atlas-orthogonal place, spine center, physical therapists, massage therapist, and tried nerve block injections many times, prolotherapy injections, had X-rays, regular MRI, upright MRI, digital motion X-ray (DMX), and the list goes on...The many doctors have not found any problems. As the months, years went by his physical condition got worse and worse...He had to quit his job about 6 months ago because of his inability of work and the capability of living an active life. His everyday life has changed completely, losing ability to do routine everyday activities, to drive a car, taking care of himself, etc.. because every movement aggravates his symptoms. His life is all about how to get through the day, how to tolerate the pain, neck instability, pain in his spine and in his back, and the muscle weakness..He’s completely lost hope.
Then 3 months ago after dealing with all the pain every day and suffering a lot from dizziness, feeling lightheaded, migraine headaches, pressures, nausea, muscle weakness, muscle twitches he has finally diagnosed with upper neck instability and we found Dr. Franck who is specialized for whiplash injuries. He diagnosed him with major C1(Atlas) and C2 (Axis) instability and he would do fusion surgery on my brother’s neck.. Basically there is excessive movement between c1 and c2 due to injured important stabilizing ligaments which suppose to hold them together and to hold the head up. He also diagnosed him with cerebellar tonsillar ectopia which means that the bottom of the brain, called cerebellum doesn’t have enough space in the skull, so it needs to be decompressed. Also suggested to fuse together c3 and c4 because of herniation.
My brother’s neck instability is in the worst 10%! This surgery is his only option to get his normal life back! I am very worried about him because I see him suffering every day. Some days are better, but most of the days he is not feeling well and he can’t be up, sometimes he is shaking from the pain.
Unfortunately the surgery costs $70.000 and it can not be done before it’s all paid up front because insurance wouldn’t cover it. We need to put the money together so the doctor would schedule the surgery as soon as possible, probably in 3-4 weeks..
We are truly appreciate every single penny and lots of thoughts and prayers!!! It would be a huge help!
