Raising for little Levi and his family

My younger sister Rhiannon shares,

Levi was born at 34+6 due to abnormal CTG

Previous to Levi being born Liam and my self Levi's parents were to be in the Newcastle area 4.5 hours away from home for 10 weeks before birth due to frequent issues in the pregnancy

Levi made his entrance at 9:13pm on the 5/06/2025

Due to his prematurity he was sent to the NICU in John Hunter hospital where he remained for 26 days until being transferred to Westmead childens hospital in Sydney to undergo surgery to repair the ductus in his heart

On Friday 4/07/2025 Levi was taken down for surgery at 8am where he then returned to the ward at 3pm and we were informed surgery wasn't successful due to a narrowing in his aorta

Which now means a bigger procedure to repair the aorta and clamp the ductus in his heart shut

Levi was due for surgery 8/07/2025 which has now been postponed due to Levi having an infection

We have had numerous meetings with doctors and now in amongst all of this they have discovered via MRI that his pituitary gland did not form properly and isn't creating the hormones that he needs, meaning Levi will remain on hormone medication for rest of his life, this has been a hard 14 weeks for liam and myself being his parents and having 2 other children at home that we are also trying to support whilst we are down in Westmead with Levi whilst he is receiving treatment, at this point in time every dollar counts to go towards the financial strain this has put on my family both his parents and his siblings at home.
