<div>The Learning Centre Literacy Association has been part of Edmonton’s community for over 30 years, offering free literacy classes in the Orange Hub for adults who have been pushed to the margins – people who didn’t get a fair shot at school because of poverty, trauma, disability, immigration barriers, displacement, or just life hitting hard.

<div>The Learning Centre is more than a school, it’s a community.
</div>
<div>Since the pandemic, our adult student registrations have increased steadily but funding for adult education hasn’t kept pace with that growing demand. <strong>We are trying to raise $70,000 in 2026. </strong>This will cover our rent in 2027, which will keep the Centre open, make classrooms available and ensure a warm, welcoming space in the neighborhood for adults to learn and rebuild.

<div>The Learning Centre Literacy Association fait partie de la communauté d’Edmonton depuis plus de 30 ans. Nous offrons gratuitement des cours de littératie au Orange Hub pour des adultes qui ont été poussés en marge du système : des personnes qui n’ont pas eu de chances égales à l’école en raison de la pauvreté, de traumatismes, de handicaps, de barrières liées à l’immigration, du déplacement ou simplement parce que la vie a frappé fort.

<div>Depuis la pandémie, le nombre de demandes d’inscription augmente sans cesse, mais le financement pour l’éducation des adultes ne suit pas le rythme. <strong>Nous cherchons à amasser 70 000 $ en 2026.</strong> Ce montant couvrira notre loyer de 2027, ce qui nous permettra de garder le Centre ouvert, de maintenir des salles de classe accessibles et d’assurer un espace chaleureux et accueillant dans le quartier où les adultes peuvent apprendre et se reconstruire.
