Raise the Arena for Star Riders

Christine Marie’s parents were told she would never be able to walk. A few days later she was put on a horse and a week later, she took her first steps. Sadly, she passed away 19 years young from cancer. In her memory, Star Riders was created. Christine Marie's Star Riders is an equine therapy program dedicated to helping people with special needs. We are located in the Ford Ord area at the Marina Equestrian Center.  The program caters to children most of whom come from underprivileged families and who would have no other way of accessing therapy. It is open to differently abled adults as well. CM Star Riders has also newly created a Veterans program, designed to help service men and women who have experienced trauma. We rescue our horses and train them to work gently with the kids, our program is entirely run by volunteers. In years past, we have typically had to shut down the program from November to March because of the rainy season, resulting in our riders having to go without therapy for months on end. We are looking to purchase an arena cover so that our riders can continue to benefit from the therapy year round. All proceeds will go to purchasing the arena cover and scholar shipping the riders.
