Raise £10,000 for the Suzy Orrsome Foundation

At the North West Jewellery School, we are committed to creating a special community, one that supports, encourages and empowers.

Having been touched by the stories of so many women and their fight against Breast Cancer and knowing so many of our students have been impacted, whether that be directly or by a loved one, we knew we had to help in some way.

The Universe has a UNIQUE way of presenting things and after meeting the wonderful Suzy Orr at a local networking event and hearing her story, hearing why she has decided to set up the foundation, and her telling us about the target to raise £500,000... we knew we could help!

"The foundation was launched by Suzy Orr on IWD 2024. The reason behind the creation of the Suzy Orrsome Foundation goes back to last June when Suzy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, following a routine Mammogram.

After her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023 Suzy realised that treatments could be improved in terms of experience and outcomes for breast cancer patients.

It is now the mission of The Suzy Orrsome foundation to provide better experiences for cancer sufferers."

After a seed of an idea was presented by one of our tutors, the idea grew and the 10,000,000 step challenge was born. We will be walking 10 MILLION steps between 10.07.24 and 10.10.24 with an aim of raising £10,000 for the foundation!

Not only will all donations be greatly received, you can also pledge to add some steps to our total figure. Whether it be 1,000 steps or 1,000,000 steps, every single step counts towards our final count on the 10.10.24. We will end the challenge by walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on the 10.10.24 and you can also pledge to join us on this walk!

We will be running some fundraising jewellery workshops and will be hosting some smaller walks for those who want to spend time with us, have a natter and get in some steps for a great cause! We are also selling handmade breast cancer ribbon earrings that will go towards our final sum.
