<div>Hi my name is Melisa and I am a 31 year old lupus warrior. In February 2022 After giving birth to my baby girl at 5 month gestation my life changed drastically. I developed a condition called ascites which causes abdominal swelling caused by accumulation of fluid. By June 16th my life took a turn for the worst, the fluid in my body saturated my lungs, my kidneys and my heart. I suffered a mini heart attack, two strokes to the left side of my body, cardiac arrest which all caused me to be put into a medically induced coma. Waking up from the coma was one of the best things that has happened to me because I got a second chance at life which I am beyond grateful for . Suffering from the Cardiac Arrest has caused me to have to learn how to walk again, learn how to talk, learn how to do all of my normal daily activities all over again. Never in a million years would I have thought my life would consist of being on a breathing machine, doing dialysis twice a day, taking numerous medications, needing 3 brand new organs and most importantly being away from my precious joy my Princess Marlee at just 4 months . Currently I am still in the hospital waiting to even be listed for a 3 organ transplant. This has been a tough journey and one that I will continue to fight until I am back to being Melisa. The outpouring love I have received from everyone I am so thankful for, I am grateful beyond measures. Unfortunately while I am still in the hospital I am unable to work and care for myself financially and upkeep the medication needed after a 3 organ transplant. I have received hundreds of messages from people suggesting ways they can donate to me so I’ve decided to create a gofundme . Anything donated my family and I are immensely thankful for.
