Christinia has always kept on top of her health with regular checkups. In July 2017 she went in for a follow-up exam for a cyst on her ovary and a sizable tumor was found. The recommendation was to remove the tumor. Two weeks later she went in for surgery to have the tumor removed, and during the surgery they discovered 2 types of cancers. They had to do a complete hysterectomy. This was difficult to hear since Christinia has no children.. When the complete results of the biopsies came back they showed her being positive for 2 different types of endometrial (uterine) cancer. One of the cancers being Stage II and the other cancer being Stage IIIC1 .
Christinia went to KU Medical Center to seek out the treatment. Her prognosis ruled her as a good candidate for chemotherapy and radiation treatments. For the past two months, she has begun her courses of chemotherapy, blood work and doctor visits. She is responding well to the treatments. Her treatments will continue through the first part of 2018.
This campaign is to raise money for Christinia’s treatment and medical expenses. Even with insurance, her out of pocket costs have been adding up quickly and will be difficult to pay. All funds will go directly the Christinia to assist in paying her >$25,000 medical bills.
In this unfortunate phase of Christinia’s life, we are reaching out for any help we can give her. We appreciate any amount you are able to donate in helping her fight this battle against cancer and are forever grateful to all for your support, love and prayers.
