<div>That’s why I’m asking for your support to help us purchase an on-site defibrillator (AED) for the gym, something that could quite literally save a life. Although we would all want to just presume we would never need one.

<div>While working in previous gyms, I’ve personally had to use a defibrillator twice. I’ve witnessed first-hand how vital they are in a medical emergency and just how quickly every second counts. The heartbreak, the fear and the helplessness that comes with those moments is something I’ll never forget.

<div>Gyms are environments where people are pushing themselves physically. That’s part of the beauty of it but it also means they’re higher-risk spaces for sudden cardiac events. In those moments, having a defib on-site can be the difference between life and death.

<div>Currently, our closest AED is at Ice Sheffield. With the best will in the world, running there and back wouldn’t give us the time we’d need to help someone in crisis.
</div>

<div>This isn’t about ticking a box. It’s about knowing that in the (god forbid) event of an emergency, we’ve done everything we possibly can to protect our members, our staff and our community.

<div>We’re aiming to raise £1000 to cover the cost of a high-quality defibrillator, storage cabinet and basic training materials for our team.
</div>
