Hello, It's Chrissy & Ronnie here, we are the 2 surviving Neave Sisters who are BRCA2 positive and running a charity called Beauties Feeling Fabulous Inc. (BFF) in memory of our Sister Elisha and our Mother Claudette. What does BFF do and why do we need your help? What are our comfort ponchos and who gets them? About Beauties Feeling Fabulous – BFF

Beauties Feeling Fabulous are dedicated: -

• To provide year round FREE pamper days for women who are undergoing cancer treatment who have had cancer or who are supporting someone with cancer.

• To provide a safe space to promote self-care and nourishment for women during this difficult time with free services, such as haircuts, manicures, facials, make up, massage, lymphatic drainage, chakra balancing flowerpot therapy, giggle therapy and much more .

• To provide gift packages for each participant from skincare to haircare or just a trinket to show we care.

• To manufacture beauties, feeling fabulous ponchos that are useful for the healing stage of surgery, allowing access for drains and tubes offering warmth with light comfortable fabric. These are given away for free and also stocked in all major hospitals.

• To provide a safe space for participants to connect with other women who are experiencing similar difficulties, its a place to share collective knowledge which empowers those who attend to understand more about what they or their loved ones might be facing. It's a wonderful networking room where friendships and support flow.

• To provide light refreshments and healthy food options for participants .

Why we need your help?

We are raising money to manufacture ponchos to put into all GC Hospitals so every women having surgery or in treatment for any type of Cancer cn have access to these for FREE.

Monies raised will also go towards the running costs of delivering year round FREE pamper days. These costs include, catering, patient gifts/care packs, hardship payments & specialty pampering services as well as insurance, postage and audit fees.

What are the comfort ponchos? and who gets them?

How it came about:

I was the eldest of 3 sisters all BRCA 2 Positive and the first to have a double mastectomy, reconstruction and a radical hysterectomy prophylactically. No one can prepare you for the pain and the drains and the drips these major surgeries come with. I felt like the weight of a house was on my chest and I could not lift my arms at all and the thought of trying to and navigate those drains and drips was just too tricky when trying to put on clothes. I needed something that was lightweight, warm and had free access for arms. Mum, ever practical, cut a hole in a baby’s blanket and made me a poncho. I was warm, cosy and my arms/drips and drains were undisturbed, it was genius! This poncho then came is handy when I was in treatment for my own cancer. I hugged it tight those chemo and radiation days.

These Beauties Feeling Fabulous Inc. Ponchos are infused with the compassion of our mother wanting her daughters to suffer less.
