On Sunday 29th December my friend (single mum of 3 year old) let reggie and his life long sidekick paddy out in their family garden for the toilet.

Unbeknownst to her and tragically at the very moment an intruder/thief was already in their garden.

What proceeded to take place is the worst and most cowardly brutal attack on a small dog I’ve had the misfortune to see.

On hearing a piercing yelp my friend ( who never left the kitchen) opened her back door and called her dogs in. Both dogs came in very slowly. Reggie leaning and paddy’s side, he was helping him get to safety.

Without going into graphic detail.

Reggie had been kicked that hard in the face his jaw was smashed and hanging off.

He was still very much conscious and crying. Her 3 year old witnessed all of this!

An emergency call out to the vet Reggie was sedated, pain relief as soon as possible.

Scans and X-rays, heartbreakingly the vet delivered the news that was devastating.

There is nothing that can be done!

The final goodbye.

Reggie although heavily sedated lifted his his when his mum approached the comfy bed they’d placed him.

Cheek to cheek he passed away with his mum, grandparents and auntie and uncle around him. A tear appeared in is eye as he left, he didn’t want to go!!!

A little about Reggie, a vivacious little 8 year old scamp. Fiercely loyal and loving.

Slept in bed with his 3 year old human best friend.

His fur best friend paddy a nine year old Pomeranian. These pair we called the dynamic duo as they were each other’s shadows! Sleeping in the day in the same dog bed. He was paddy’s voice, paddy was led by paddy even though he was a year his junior. Reggie was somewhat of a pig, always the front of the que for any treats or tit bits.

The home feels empty, paddy is in distress having witnessed the attack. He now refuses to go into the garden his life as he knows it been ripped apart…

Police have attended yesterday (30th). They were so very empathetic and kind, very thorough. They have contacted the vets for report of his injuries, house to house to enquiries hoping for any footage of the murderer. On that we have ourselves put a plea out on social medi. To which has had a massive outpouring of support and sympathy. No leads as yet unfortunately.

We are going to our local Asda today to get some posters printed to appeal for any information

Numerous people have suggested go fund me. So here we are…

My kind friend, struggling single mom already has anxiety, has an over a £1,000 vet bill to pay for.

In the future (not immediately) to home a new friend for anxious and hurt paddy and a three year old heartbroken little little boy

It would be nice to have his ashes in a nice casket and some placed in a locket too.

This lady is now going to have to move as the terror in her own home is too much to even consider staying there. To scared to go home!

Finally it would be fantastic to be able to make a donation to our local pet welfare group who have been so supportive during this horrible time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and most very needed.

The world is a world is a darker place without Reggie in it.
