<div>Walking the West Highland Way for Players Against Dementia

<div>From 2nd - 9th May, I will be taking on the West Highland Way, a 96-mile journey through the heart of the Scottish Highlands. While this began as a personal "bucket list" challenge for my 50th birthday, the incredible support from friends and family has turned it into something much more important.

<div>The Inspiration: Ivan Murray
</div>
<div>Most of you know him as my Dad, but to many in the football community, Ivan Murray is remembered as a "Midfield General." Having made nearly 600 appearances for Coleraine FC , he famously scored the goal that secured the league title in 1974 and was twice named Northern Ireland Football Writers' Player of the Year.
</div>
<div>Sadly, Dad is now living with dementia as a result of playing football. It has driven me to support a cause that looks after those who gave so much to the "beautiful game."
</div>

<div>The Charity: Players Against Dementia  - an organisation in it’s infancy and in the final stages of being fully registered as a charity by the Charities Commission NI.
</div>

<div>I have chosen to support Players Against Dementia. As the charity finds its feet, its mission is vital:
</div>
<div>• Support for Legends: Providing practical assistance and financial aid to former players and their families navigating neurodegenerative conditions. 
</div>
<div>• Future Safety: Funding research and preventative measures to protect the next generation of players.
</div>
