Raise a New Roof for Katy Knuth!

Our beloved Katy Knuth’s home in Stannard was destroyed in a fire on Monday night (February 2). Katy and her dog Fran are safe, but sadly her cat Claude did not survive. This fundraiser will help Katy recover and rebuild after this terrible loss. Katy is a dear friend to many of us, and a beloved presence in Montpelier. Please help if you can!

To give some backstory, the fire started in Katy’s home while she was out of the house Monday evening. Katy came home, saw the fire and called 911, but despite a valiant effort by the fire department, the house was a complete loss. Katy and Fran are now safe and staying with friends. Katy needs funds and supplies to secure housing and start over. Our initial goal for this fundraiser is $10,000 but we know it will take much more for Katy to rebuild and replace what is rebuildable and replaceable.

Anyone who knows Katy knows how how precious she is to our community, and how much she loves Claude and Fran and her home. She has put enormous care, money, and work into making her house into a bright, creative world.
