Help Rainforest Mushrooms Dominica

Donation protected
Hello everyone, I would like to share the ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by Hurricane Maria which hit Dominica on the night of Sept 18 2017. Mabrika, Mabrika (Kalinago Language Greeting for Welcome) to Dominica

Welcome to the Nature Island of the Caribbean, Dominica my Caribbean home which has 365 Rivers which means one for each day of the year. We are located in the Eastern Caribbean surrounded by the Caribbean Sea to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the East.

My US based family plans to ship food and supplies to rebuild our mushroom farm on the two acres in the rainforest near the Morne Trois Piton National Park. Our green house and mushroom lab was damaged but we will restart growing Oyster mushrooms in the next few months since we must move forward with our lives. A new era begins for Dominica, the rainforest where I lived, worked, grew up on has been destroyed by the Category 5160 Miles Per Hour Winds but our spirit of determination, strength will never give up on rebuilding our country which will take months, years!

My parents live in the rural mountain village of Pont Casse also spelled Pond Casse on certain maps which is 30 minutes from the capitol of Roseau! Our country has never seen a Category 5 Hurricane in its lifetime and suffered infrastructure damage which will take months and years to repair. Many homes have lost roofs or completely demolished but we are hopeful for a better future.

We are known as the "Nature Island of the Caribbean" with 365 rivers, eco tourism with whale watching, hiking in the mountains to see stunning views of the Caribbean sea, Atlantic Ocean. Truly an island which is paradise with rainforest with various birds, animals which attract visitors from around the World, used to be a stop over for cruise ship tourist prior to the arrival of Hurricane Maria.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers in advance! Caribbean people are strong and very resilient
to recover from the hurricanes which are increasing due to climate changeglobal warming.
Thanks for your understanding and love, compassion to help our island and home of Dominica.

We are asking our friends and family to help donate to support my family rebuild, recover our mushroom farm. My family's source of income are Oyster Mushroom farmers and being artist with arts, craft, music.

We need to send mushroom lab supplies, repair our damaged Greenhouse plus fix our truck which is used to deliver mushrooms to our customers to rebuild our lives in Dominica. We are also would like to support our adopted son Rainstar Luke's "Kalinago" family with food shipments from the USA!!!! Thanks for sharing and helping the Luke family in our time of need!
