Over the last several months we have had several large vet bills which we are hoping to pay off to bring our vet balance back down to zero. Our wonderful vet has helped us in so many ways and we want to continue working with them for as long as we are around. Many of the pets who we have helped are still with us today and are recovering and recuperating from their illness/injuries and trauma and some have already found new homes. Although we may have found new homes for these wonderful pets we can not continue to help more pets without some help from you.
Dreamer when she first arrived.
Dreamer is our sweet and mild mannered mare who came from an awful hoarding situation where she was being used as a broodmare. At 20 years young this poor girl's hooves were so over grown we were apalled and she was in desperate need of attention to her teeth. We had her teeth treated and feet trimmed asap and visited our wonderful vet. Dreamer is making a slow and steady recovery and we are watching her gain her strength and confidence back as she recovers from an old untreated ligament injury. Her health and happiness can only continue to happen with your support.
Zu Zu during evaluation
Zu Zu's front foot
Zu Zu was part of a sad situation where an individual's health declined and the person was no longer able to care for her pets as they required. Her feet were very overgrown and started curling up like jester slippers. This sweet pony needed a full medical check up, teeth cleaning/floating, and is in need of several reparative farrier visits for her hooves. She also requires regular hay and feed which is expensive in itself.
Fergus came to us with an extremely enlarged ear the size of a baseball. He has severe ear infection which caused him to shake and scratch his ear repeatedly leading to a Hematoma (blood and fluids pooling in his ear flap). He is currently undergoing meds and has a surgical drain put in to help relieve the pressure.
All these wonderful and sweet pets require medical treatments causing our veterinay bills to quickly sky rocket. Please consider contributing to our vet bills through this page or directly to our vet at Mill Valley Vet Clinic [phone redacted]. You can make a payment over the phone, just let them know it is for Rainbow Rescues.
