Rainbow Mentors: A colourful future

Rainbow mentors needs your help with start up fees. Help us get our programming running. This program will be supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ kids and youth from age 4-18. It will be run as a mentoring program. There is currently a gap in services for this population and age range. Your donation will be used to  create programming for 2SLGBTQIA youth, programs such as art, music, and recreational. We are also working to create a queer youth library, donations of books are also accepted. All money donated will be used to buy art supplies, musical instruments, sporting equipment, and healthy snacks during programming.  Donations of all materials listed above are also accepted.  Your support is key to providing this much needed programming in Hamilton.  We are a volunteer run organization so every dollar donated helps so much. 
For every $20 dollars donated we will send you a rainbow gem bracelet.
For every $50 donated we will send you a black  t-shirt with a rainbow battery.
We care about creating positive spaces where kids can be themselves and grow in a positive environment.   ABOUT US: Rainbow Mentors was created to fill a gap in services for children and youth age 4-18 identifying as 2SLGBTQIA . Rainbow Mentors is an innovative community development program created by Sean Cullen and Jessica Cairns.  Rainbow Mentors aims to connect 2SLGBTQIA youth to positive adult mentors. Rainbow Mentors strives to be fluid in the ways it provides programming and training. It recognizes that over time language, awareness, and concepts in learning styles change. We are committed to always using best practices and staying current with new ideas and the needs of the community. MISSION STATEMENT Rainbow Mentors works within an anti-oppressive framework to: • Cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming community; • Create opportunities and spaces for young persons to grow, explore, and experience a sense of belonging; • Celebrate all young persons who are questioning sexuality and gender, and those identifying as 2SLGBTQIA. We commit to Hamilton’s 2SLGBTQIA young people that we will be leaders in providing them the highest quality, volunteer based mentoring, and educational programs. We aim to match young people with similarly identifying adults, using an intersectional lens, and foster positive relationships. VISION STATEMENT: Every 2SLGBTQIA and TWO-SPIRIT child and youth in the greater Hamilton area who needs a mentor has a mentor. To support, engage, inspire and empower all young persons, parents/guardians, and adult mentors to achieve their full potential. To create inclusive and positive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA  young people. We aim to facilitate and promote healthy sexual and gender identities, and positive life experiences with social connection, education and collaboration/partnership with all agencies serving youth.
