Rain City Soccer Club (RCSC) of Seattle

The Rain City Soccer Club (RCSC) is a non-profit LGBTQ sports club, led by its own volunteers. The RCSC organizes predominantly LGBTQ soccer teams in the Seattle area. The club's goal is to provide its community members with access to a respectful environment to meet others to enjoy soccer and build the LGBTQ community. The RCSC helps coordinate various levels of competition from open-access scrimmages to competitive teams. The club’s volunteers also coordinate special events and community service.

Our 2020-21 Campaign!

Every year, the RCSC organizes low-cost soccer options for the LGBTQ+ community of Seattle. One of the long-time programs offered by the RCSC is called Kickabout , which are 60+ minute weekly scrimmages/practices located in Seattle’s centrally located Capitol Hill, accessible by the Link rail and other public transportation options. Sessions are held all-year round.

Kickabout sessions are open to anyone who wants to play soccer, and made possible by club fundraising. When the kickabout program is fully supported by community fundraising, sessions are available at No-Cost for anyone who can't afford the nominal $5 participation fee. Fundraising makes this program a possibility for underserved people in the community who are financially strapped.

Each year, Seattle field fees amount to a $3,000 expense for the club ($85 per week), so RCSC leaders set a community fundraising goal of $2,500. The club reserves and pays for fields, organizes logistics and provides soccer gear and coaching for each session, but the funding for the program is essential.

Donations are vital to allow this wonderful program to happen, which is completely staffed by volunteers. To allow for a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, the RCSC never charges annual dues for membership, therefore community support is fundamental to the club and program's survival.

Due to COVID-19, club fundraising hasn't been possible this year through traditional efforts, so the club has launched this campaign to gain the support of the online community, like you!

Please join us by supporting the Seattle LGBTQ community and donating to this campaign! Donations of any amount are graciously appreciated!
