<div>The <strong>Railway Family 2021</strong> was launched last year by Natasha Hanson - National Rail Awards Judge, and former HR and Business Services Director of Direct Rail Services, amidst a time of uncertainty and concern for the rail industry. The aim was to bring people together for a good cause and to remind us that, when we unite, there is simply no industry that compares.

<div>Now, once more, it is time for us to come together, and we need to extend our family even further....
</div>

<div>We are therefore delighted to announce that we will be supporting the <strong>National Rail Awards 2022</strong> in paying tribute to the heroic and unimaginable efforts of <strong>Ukrainian Railways</strong>.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since the start of the war in Ukraine, 140 railway workers have lost their lives whilst evacuating 3.5 million to safety.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As part of that, we will be raising money for British Ukrainian Aid to fund life-saving equipment:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>-	£20 buys a tourniquet that stops/ slows bleeding allowing medical help to arrive;
</div>
<div>-	£100 buys specialist First Aid Kits;
</div>
<div>-	£716 buys a versatile stretcher that allows only 2 instead of 4 people to carry out a rescue, reducing the number of lives being risked saving others;
</div>
<div>-	£1200 buys a Baby Warmer, needed when frequent air raids mean moving vulnerable babies from ICU to cold basements;
</div>
<div>-	£8000 buys an ambulance.

<div>British Ukrainian Aid supports people suffering from the war and humanitarian crisis in Ukraine by aligning UK and Ukrainian efforts.
</div>

<div>They offer assistance to vulnerable individuals who have been physically, mentally or socially disadvantaged, including the injured and wounded, orphaned children, the elderly, internally displaced persons and refugees . Since the full-scale invasion in February 2022 their main focus has been providing essential medical aid to Ukraine.
