Rai Som International Community Development

We are a class of students from Cal State University of Long Beach who will assist in the development of a hill tribe of stateless individuals in Rai Som, Thailand. We will be helping the Mirror Foundation (a national govermental agency) build better educational facilities for local children. Our goal is to provide a suitable environment in which teachers can teach, children will have more access to books and supplies, and they will have better amenities.

All funds donated to the Rai Som Development cause will go straight to the school in which we will be developing. To avoid operational costs not associated to the development of the community, 100% of funds will be given to the development of the school. The funds will be needed by the middle of May as the class prepares to embark on the project.

The funds do not support the class financially but do provide us the opportunity to develop crucial leadership, empathy, teamwork and cross cultural communication/immersion skills in a growingly interconnected world. The direct beneficiaries will be the community of Rai Som and we are all grateful for your contributions to directly impact and change the lives of the Rai Som community and students of Cal State Long Beach.
