FlintWaterCrisis: How You Can Help

The city of Flint is the fourth largest city in Michigan boasting a population of 98,310 residents. It has been found that approximately 41.2% of these residents live beneath the poverty line and belong to an array of different minority groups.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond their control, the citizens of Flint have been exposed to lead poisoning through utilization of the local public water supply. This situation has become well known amongst the general public; however, not everyone knows the whole story.
In 2014, Flint, Michigan representatives relocated their water source from Lake Huron to The Flint River. Due to the oversights and actions made by Flint representatives and Governor Snyder, the Flint River water supply was never properly vetted for possible preexisting pollution issues. This in combination with a lack of anticorrosive treatments being performed to existing water supply pipes have led residents of Flint to their current murky situation. Although the EPA and the state of Michigan have pooled together 120 million dollars to start pipe reconstruction, residents still face a long road of hardship and medical expenses as a direct result of an unclean water supply.
We are Rage for Change, a group of motivated and inspired young adults devoted to using the power of music to help benefit others and their communities. This fundraiser marks the official kick-off point where our first goal is to make a positive impact on the current situation the citizens of Flint, Michigan, have been facing since 2014. After performing our due diligence and gaining knowledge from the volunteers and citizens residing in Flint, we believe the best way for us to make an impact is to provide monetary support to well established, reputable and local non-profit organizations specific to the Flint Water Crisis.
Rage for Change has also announced an event featuring DJ's, vendors, and performers in which ALL proceeds are going towards Flint. This event is an amazing opportunity for all music lovers around the Greater Boston area to get involved and help us to help achieve our goal. For those who are not in the Greater Boston Music Scene, this GoFundMe expands our outreach to get as many people involved as possible.
