Jacob Harrison Roth Memorial Fund

Happy Holidays and New Year to you all and to all of your families.  Give your kids an extra hug this season for us !

The Jacob H. Roth Memorial Fund was established by the Jewish Academy along with his family in October of 2015 in order to honor the life of the five-year old Jewish Academy student who died much too soon.

Jacob Harrison Roth o.b.m was a beautiful boy who brought joy to all who met him. He was just starting first grade at the Jewish Academy of Suffolk County, the school he loved dearly as it quenched his great desire to learn anything and everything and breaks from the common core curriculum bothering so many today.  On Sept 18, 2015, his parents precautionarily took him to the Emergency Room and just twenty-four hours later he was gone.   Needless to say his parents will remain devatsted for life and continue working to do good to honor his memory.   Enter Fundraising.

The Jacob H. Roth Memorial Fund first established last year has assisted in: (1) the establishment of The Jacob Harrison Roth Opportunity for Excellence Scholarship – an annual need-blind scholarship to The Jewish Academy, (2) The reconstruction of the Suffolk Y JCC playground benefittng both the Jewish Academy and Suffolk Y JCC students (see photo below) which can hopefully break ground this Spring 2017, and (3) an annual donation to the Viral Myocarditis
Foundation (http://www.myocarditisfoundation.org)
with hopes of preventing any other families from dealing with Sudden Cardiac Death in young children like Jacob.
