Rafa's Road to Recovery

On Thursday March 1, 2018 my dad went for a check up with neurologist at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. They had been monitoring 2 brain aneurysms for a couple years now. When the doctor performed the CT angiogram they realized that one of the aneurysms had ruptured and he was having a hemorrhagic stroke. They immediately took him into emergency surgery performing a craniotomy, clipping one aneurysm and a graft on the other. Over all the intial surgery was a success, but later the doctors realized that he had an extensive amount of blood and increased intracranial pressure so they performed another surgery placing a drain into his brain to help decrease that pressure. My dad is currently still in the neurological ICU at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. As he is improving little by little every day thanks to God and the amazing team at Shands, there have been other complications which will keep my dad in the hospital for an extended amount of time, and then will be followed by a stay at a neurological rehab facility.
My mom has not been to work since this happened March 1st and my sister and I are both students along with trying to be there for our dad have not been working our regular hours. As you all know we live in Orlando and Gainesville is about a 2 hour drive for us. Not only have my mom and dad not been able to work but the costs of  the gas from continuously driving to Gainesville and back, hotel costs, and food have really started to add up. 

We are tying to stay positive and know that God willingly my dad will completely recover and the Enciso family will get through this. As of right now we are just taking it day by day.
