Hello, my name is Justin.

11 years ago my girlfriend Kat and I walked into Cardiff Dogs Hotel, after losing our previous fur-baby Tyson who gave us 17 wonderful years the previous week.

We walked down one of the rows and what did we come across, this 6 months old beautiful dog called Brandy. She was jumping up and down excited so excited to see us! She had been surrendered to the home 20 mins before we arrived. We knew we wanted her there and then. We felt it was a sign from our Tyson to help fill the void he'd left!

Their policy is you have to wait 3 nail biting days, but when we received the call to say we could bring her to her Forever Home we knew it was meant to be!

Fast forward 11yrs wonderful years to July 4th this year.

We took her and our other rescue Laddie for their annual booster and check up. Brandy again was given perfect bill of health.

On 12th August we took her to the vets as she had some shortness of breath. After 5 agonising hours we were told she had just days to live which was the wrong diagnosis. Our world fell apart!

Our beautiful, kind and sassy girl who'd given us so much joy was ill. We couldn't get our head around it!

We decided we needed a second opinion and took our girl to a different vets practice. Following their assessment we were referred to a specialist vets hospital in Bristol where Brandy had a CT scan and biopsy, this identified our beautiful girl has a very large Thymoma growing in her chest. Due to it's size surgery is not an option with the Thymoma being so close to her Venacava. This means our only option after a lot of research is radiotherapy, this will shrink and kill the tumour giving us more time with our beautiful fur-baby!

Due to the messing around, incorrect information and incompetence from our original vet, Brandy's insurance has been used up.

Radiotherapy is expensive, but we refuse to give up on our girl, she's been our rock through lots of life's challenges.

Radiotherapy has been estimated £7500 and we simply do not have the funds.

Radiotherapy starts on the 22nd September five days of therapy.

£1000,is the cost of another ct scan to find the correct placement of the Radiotherapy,and further biopsi, the other £6500 is the cost of the Radiotherapy .

We're appealing to our fellow dog lovers out there for any help you can give us to help raise the funds and give our wonderful girl more time! It's no more than she deserves!
